I bought this software because I was hearing about its ability to resize images for web offering. It is not offered as such in Photoshop Elements. This is my first criticism of this program. Whatever you do, never resize an image outside of this program. Photoshop Elements is badly equipped to handle this. I agree that the elements such as the crop tool are adequate however. In my opinion, this software also lacks any sort of more advanced editing features that would make it useful. For example, there is no way of cropping to tell Photoshop to keep the edge of other layers that may be visible under them.
If you want to create a graphic that will look right on a business document, let your creative juices flow, or just enjoy the creative process, then Photoshop is an excellent tool. Photoshop’s strength is its feature set; however, if you use the program to create a new image, it can take weeks — not hours — of working. The learning curve is steep.
