Once the installation is complete, you can reboot the device and you can see that the card is working. If everything went fine, you can immediately start the configuration and use the web browser to reach IP address 192.168.1.1, being sure to type in the root user.
In the former case, the E3276 should still work without any issues, and you just need to determine whether or not you’ve downloaded the right firmware for it. The latter scenario is one of those things I need to get a bunch more practice before I start explaining how to do – but it’s not strictly related to the OpenWrt portion. You should just be able to flash the firmware, then reflash the bootloader and the router and go from there. Just please let me know if you didn’t do the latter part first.
I’m still here, actually. The E3276 got bricked on the dual-bank setting, and removing the secondary flash chip was a solution. When I reflashed the E3276 with the new firmware, I was able to switch the bank to be active, and get a connection. Now the E3276 is detecting and flashing, but the screen and data transfer is all screwed up. I’m using the latest firmware image as per your instructions (git clone git://git.openwrt.org/openwrt.git). I’m using the latest serial terminal software (0.9.3) and a 16Mbit RS232 cable. Is there anything else I can do before I spend the day tearing my hair out?
